USCIS Restores Integrity to VA

We are updating guidance in Volume 3 of the USCIS Policy Manual related to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) program, which provides certain immigration benefits to survivors of domestic abuse. From fiscal years 2020 to 2024, there was a significant increase in Form I-360 VAWA self-petitions, with an overall rise of approximately 360% and male petitioners increasing by 259%. These trends indicate the need for enhanced scrutiny.
USCIS has taken steps to restore integrity to this program after identifying rampant fraud.
