Washington — Following the shooting incident involving two National Guard service members in Afghanistan, USCIS will consider relevant country-specific factors when exercising its broad discretionary authorities regarding aliens from 19 high-risk countries. This comes after the agency halted refugee resettlement from Afghanistan and the entry of Afghan nationals during the first year of the Trump administration.
