Psychology Associate – Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH)
Join our team as a Psychology Associate on our Treatment Mall at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) in Tukwila, WA. The Treatment Mall is a structured, multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment offering group treatment, experiential learning opportunities, and normalizing services designed to support patient skill-building, engagement, and community reintegration.
OHBH treats patients civilly committed by the courts and referred to state psychiatric care for treatment and rehabilitation. State treatment facilities prepare civil patients for eventual discharge back into our communities.
Please Note: The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, 7:00AM - 5:30PM.
King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you will do
- Plan and facilitate evidence-based psychological treatment groups based on a clinical focus area (emotional regulation, substance use, trauma, etc.), patient needs, and patient interest.
- Serve as a clinical mentor for other Treatment Mall staff.
- Co-facilitate experiential and skills-based learning groups
- Maintain a defined caseload of patients aligned with assigned clinical focus area.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team (medical, psychiatry, nursing, social work, etc.) treatment planning and rounds.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- A master's degree in psychology or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience working with adults experiencing psychosis.
- Experience facilitating structured therapeutic groups using evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, ACT, CPT, and/or motivational interviewing.
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Working knowledge of behaviorism, cognitive and related therapies, and other clinical modalities.
- Knowledge of mental illness and recovery principles.
- Ability to work with challenging patients in a therapeutic and non-threatening manner.
